I don't think it's happening. It's a really short list at the top of the FA market at wide receiver. You're basically talking about four players _ Wallace, Jennings, Bowe, and Welker. (And that's if you consider Welker at true No. 1.) One or two of the others will probably re-sign with their current team. And that leaves a bunch of teams all shooting for one or two wideouts. After that, the quality drops off noticeably. -

I don't think Fisher's past track record on drafing offensive tackles will preclude him from taking a first-round tackle if the right guy is there. But the first step in the process is free agency _ there's some pretty intriguing names there. So will the Rams go after one of those OTs in free agency in March. -

I was in the war room in 2001, a year in which the Rams had three first-round picks. When I say in the room, I was allowed in five minutes before the pick and could stay for five minutes after the pick. That year, the Rams stuck pretty much to their board. It was basically head coach Mike Martz and GM Charley Armey doing the bulk of the talking. The only real discussion the entire draft that I can recall came on the third first-round pick, which ended up being DT Ryan Pickett _ who's still playing today. Martz wasn't sure about taking the pick, but Armey liked Pickett. But again, it was a discussion not an argument. -

I don't really have a good feel for the defensive coordinator high. I do find the latest name to surface, Tim Walton, very intriguing. Fisher tried to hire him last year. The reviews on him in Detroit are good. And he's considered an up-and-comer. There is some thought at Rams Park, the FIsher might want to hire a younger coach such as Walton who can grow up and grow into the defense, rather than having preconceived notions or be set in his ways like a veteran coach might. -
what are the chances that the rams selections arent available for the first round; 16th and /or 22nd, and the rams trade for a couple of 2nd round and or 3rd round picks? I'D love to see them have five picks in the second round after no picks in the first; probally not much of a chance but would love it...hi to stephen thomas -

Right off the bat, you'd have to say there's less sizzle, simply because we don't have the elite quarterback prospects that we had last year at this time. Once again, it looks like it's top-heavy on defensive linemen. It looks like a good year for safeties and offensive tackles (which is good news from a Rams perspective). Maybe not quite as talented at the top at wide receiver. -

Just their willingness to make moves. The blockbuster deal with Wasington, which actually came in March. Trading down at No. 6 overall on draft day. And then not taking a WR until No. 33 overall (Brian Quick) when the top-tier of WRs (at least entering the draft) was just about exhausted. -
