I'd say the Rams, given their stack of draft picks to use during the seasons ahead. Dallas is edging closer to start-over mode. The Cowboys have some assets, but, for starters, that franchise must find the next quarterback and the next coach. It looks like Romo and Garrett have run their course there. -

Best SEC lineman? No. First-round pick? Absolutely. From Mel Kiper: "You could draft Richardson and put him in any system. He's quick, but uses his hands and battles, rather than just swimming and running around blocks; he's a penetrator who plays physical, and piles up tackles. Locates both the ball and the passer well." -

Johnny Damon, R.I.P. He hit four homers in 224 at bats this season. Nice career, but it's time to move on down the trail. Chavez has more pop than Matt Carpenter as a corner infielder, but I don't see a great fit there with first baseman Matt Adams also in development for the Cards. -

Mozeliak will try to sign him before the season. If Adam plays out his contract in 2013 and pitches well, then his price will likely soar out of range for St. Louis. IMO Mozeliak's best opportunity is to offer security before next season. To get him to sign, though, he will have to acknowledge what other pitchers sign for this winter and put his offer within range of that. -

Jeff, Avery was almost never healthy when here, and when he was healthy he didn't exactly set the world on fire. You can chalk that up to the poor coaching he received, but he was a high draft pick that didn't catch many passes. The Rams couldn't make anything happen with Laurent Robinson either. -

I saw Franklin's passing last season. He threw flat-footed too often. He put much air under too many balls. His short sideline passes took a while to get there. He could loft deep passes, but he could not consistently hit all the intermediate routes with tight throws. It seemed obvious coming into this season that he needed to dramatically improve his throwing. Perhaps his injuries prevented that improvement, but to this point of his career Franklin has never measured up to his immediate predecessors as a passer. -
