He's got EIGHTEEN wins and he's hot. How can Lance Lynn NOT be in the conversation about pitching the play-in game?

He also pitched his way out of the rotation earlier this season. Lance would be one of the many available relief options for that game -- perhaps the top option for early inning trouble, given his recent bullpen experience.

After watching what Seattle did to the Green Bay offense, we all knew it would be tough sledding in the passing attack Sunday. I liked the key third-and-long conversions and the use of Givens and Quick. Also a nice downfield pass to Kendricks reminds of his potential. More passing TDs will come.

If the Cardinals win Friday, who starts Game 1 Sunday? I'd have a hard time not starting Carp if he looks right again tomorrow night.

Even though Wainwright has struggled, I'd go there. Carpenter has progressed from spring training mode to April mode. I'd need to see domination in his next start to get excited about his ability to make the key postseason starts.

Sure, if the other Cardinals hit and if the pitchers pitch. The Cards would not have a dynamic bottom third of the order, but they could work around that if pitching is there.

No season at all? Maybe 5 percent. The two sides are talking. I could see a 70-game season. Once both sides suffer economic harm and the fan outcry intensifies, I think we'll see a more serious effort to settle.

I wish I shared your sentinment. I think it's probably 50/50. Now that the NFL seems to be coming around in STL, the Blues stand to lost a LOT tyhe further this goes IMO

The Cardinals ought to make the play-in game, since the Reds aren't going to be super-motivated to win these games this week. From there, it'll be fascinating. Play-in games are a dice roll.

Since the regular Bradford-bashing hasn't begun on this chat yet, I would like to point out that Rams fans aren't the only ones who are reactionary about their quarterback. Go to the Seattle Times message boards and see what they are saying about Russell Wilson.

Yeah, that game went bad for Wilson in a hurry. Make it look so easy for one drive and then the rest of the game was a nightmare for him.

With the parity in the NFC thus far, and the Rams' ability to win at home early on, it would be a shame if the Rams finished 7-9 and missed the playoffs because their 8th home game was in London.

Baseball is not meant for single elimination. The Cards love the rule, for now, but how will the good people of Atlanta feel if their team doesn't advance into the bracket?

Have the tv folks decided the times of the 2 games on Friday? Wil it be late afternoon and primetime, or primetime and late night? I'm thinking if Baltimore plays Oakland the NL will get the prime slot, but if the Yankees or LA Angles are involved it will bump the NL to the other slot.

MLB could do a night doubleheader, if it so chose, because the winner would not play again until Sunday. We shall see.

Gotta give Fisher credit for calling the fake field goal and kicking the two long field goals. Spags wouldn't of had the guts to do any of that. He would have punted twice and kicked the short field goal.
