Hey, Sherpa -- first-time writer, long-time reader. When the original SW trilogy was re-released in 1997, I had a crush on a girl from my school (hi, Liz!) who wore her hair in a double bun like Princess Leia. It's a good look, but you don't see much of it these days. Women listen to you, right? Could you tell them to bring back the bun?
@EvanBenn Interesting, that someone would have that hair style in real life. I can do my best to drum up support for that particular coif, but I don't think it goes well with anything other than white robes and light sabers.
@Jody My guess is you're not alone in thinking "Moulin Rouge" should be higher than No. 6. I did enjoy the film, for its uniqueness and some lush sets and imagery. But it sometimes seemed too much and i thought it was too long.
@Jody As to "Down With Love," I thought it was a horrible decision to even make it. The Rock Hudson-Doris Day films of the late 50s-early 60s were generally mediocre, in my opinion, so trying to recapture that mediocrity made for a painful movie experience -- at least for me.
Speaking of "Moulin Rouge," here is McGregor's rendition of Elton John's "Your Song."

I'll admit that part of my problem with it is Rene Zellweger. I tend to either really like her performance or, more often than not, really dislike them. This falls heavily in the "dislike" category.
Interesting choice, Marie. While i thought the acting was good across the board, it was such a bleak film. I found it hard to get through.

"Black Hawk Down" was an exhausting, intense action film, and this scene with McGregor is a good indication. ly

For fans of McGregor, mark your calendar for March 23. He is opening in “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” which co-stars Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas. Directed by Lasse Halltsröm ("Chocolat") and written by Simon Beaufoy ("Slumdog Millionaire," "127 Hours").
Mcgregor's big break came in "Trainspotting," which boasts one of my favorite closing monolgues.

As we reach the end of our hour, enjoy this bittersweet Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder son, "Man of the Hour," which was the main tune from "Big Fish."
